The Art of Storytelling

We love to tell stories. We love to hear stories. It’s in our DNA. If you’re trying to inspire, persuade or convince people to believe in your message, storytelling is one of the oldest and most effective tools you can ever use.

But it isn’t always easy. Good stories need to be well-crafted.

This session will increase your ability to tell compelling stories that share complex information and encourage action in a clear, convincing, and brief way.

During this 3-hour workshop, Kyle Warnick (storyteller and Group Marketing Manager at Microsoft), will share with you how to craft a good story, the role of delivery and presentation, and how business leaders and marketers can use stories to deepen customer connections and generate interest in products, programs and services. This will be a “hands-on, roll-up your sleeves and get work done” session. You’ll start with your own story/communications issue and then refine it throughout our time, using a unique framework that mines storytelling gold from master communicators like Walt Disney, Martin Luther King, Jr., George Lucas, and companies like Google and Nike…we’ll even throw in a few surprising inspirations from a chef, a comic book artist and a circus showman. These individuals and organizations all have used storytelling to capture our imaginations (and in some cases, our wallets), build loyalty and create phenomenal emotional connections. If they can do it, so can you.
